Yukie

I am just a random girl sitting in front of a computer screen...

At the time of writing this, I am 23 years old and not-so-freshly-out-of-college. I live in NYC with my parents and I have a standard 9-5 day time job in a law firm. I've done many web-related projects in the past, mostly during my college years, from web designing to manga translations to forum admin. But then, my web community history came to a sudden halt as I was finishing school and got addicted to MMORPGs, namely Ragnarok Online at the time. (School is just an excuse, gaming is the real reason ^^;) I lost interest in everything else and didn't even touched my sites anymore.

I did a bit of fantasy writing in my free time because I get randomly inspired by things, but I was never able to carry an idea far enough to give it real content because I can't seem to be able to write after a certain point unless I have the entire plot laid out in my head. The longest story I've written (and it's not very long) is called Silent Revolution.

In early '06 when Rwen and I discussed the idea for a joint comic project, she was just looking for random short story ideas and I immediately remembered an abandoned idea that I only wrote the prologue of. I conceived it when I was rewatching Vampire Princess Miyu and so it was suppose to be that dark, twisted overtone while being set in a little alley called Night Street. After a few weeks of discussion and revision with Rwen, I think those were the only two things that got kept from the original - the mood and the street name - but that was how Night Street was born... and I was once again fully interested to work on something.

Techie, RP-Addict, pigeon biographer, artist.

I was born April 1982 in the absolutely awesome New York City -- Or it would be absolutely awesome if the pigeons didn't enjoy using me as target practice. Lovely creatures. I'm working full-time at a non-profit organization in midtown Manhattan as one of a two-man in-house IT team while studying part-time for a Masters in computer science. When it's not busy, I observe the social habits of the city birds that have made a meeting place of the balcony just beyond my window.

During high school, I had collaborated several galleries with Yukie, first working with M$ Publisher, then moving on to coding raw HTML with Notepad. By college, I lost interest in maintaining a gallery and directed my attention towards a small personal collective of writings and art. Sophomore year in college, I joined a friend's forum, Metropolis as a co-administrator and took part in brainstorming ideas for two forum-based RPGs. This is when I realized my addiction to role-playing and have not been able to fully break from it since.

I did quite a bit of creative writing throughout my life, mostly fantasy and sci-fi stories, all of which were supplemented with character designs and illustrations of random scenes from these stories. Unfortunately, of all the novels I started, only one was ever completed, and somehow it ended in the year 1994 despite starting in 2042. At the end of junior year in college, I was introduced to MMORPGs--Ragnarok Online--and was immediately hooked. For the next year or so, my life was entirely consumed by the game where everything I produced was somehow related to RO.

The end of 2004 proved to be the limit of RO's hold, and without devoting hours a day to it, I suddenly had my life back and started RPing and writing again. I had done some sprite comicking in my RO days, and had been trying to think of original plots and stories I could tell in comic format. Then Yukie brought up the idea for a collaborative comic project, and after some deliberation on how we would go about it, or what the story would be like, Night Street was put into motion.
